Jacques Blais MBA

Jacques Blais was born into an entrepreneurial family. His early career was shaped by the goal of becoming the 5th generation of his father’s company. With a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Laval University in hand, he set off in search of the widest possible variety of experiences to support the family business. He started out at the bottom of the ladder for an international company, where, thanks to some very fortuitous circumstances, he was quickly promoted into different areas of the business. His talents as a leader were quickly recognized. At the age of 26, he decided to join the family business, which was unfortunately acquired by another family.

Undaunted, he decided to progress where he was, honing his skills in process and business diagnostics, change navigation and turnaround. His results were such that he was granted access to the MBA program at the renowned Richard Ivey School of business, which he completed with honours while continuing to work full-time. He then turned his attention to acquisitions, with an emphasis on integrating the acquired businesses.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, he currently serves as Chairman of the Board, Director, member of Advisory Boards, consultant and catalyst with the Cercle , and when free, devotes his time to his family, the Canadian Ski Patrol and Special Olympics Québec, among others…
